Office partition walls come in a variety of types, from glass to brick to concrete, each partition wall has its own benefits.

What is an office partition wall?

An office partition wall is a permanent or temporary structure that is typically used to separate internal spaces within an office. These partition walls can be made from a variety of materials, each with their own benefits, and can be found in offices large and small across the country.

What are office partition walls used for?

The most common use of an office partition wall is to separate areas of an office into more manageable areas. They are often used to create extra meeting spaces, increase privacy or reduce the spread of noise throughout an office.

Types of Office Partition Wall:

Glass Partition Walls

Glass partition walls are one of the most popular choices for an office partition as they offer a sleek and modern aesthetic. They are typically installed with an aluminium frame which provides solid and reliable structural support.

The additional benefit of glass partition walls is that they offer more visibility, light-exchange and present a more open-plan environment whilst maintaining their functionality.

Brick Partition Walls

Brick partition walls are a durable, reusable and environmentally friendly type of office partitioning. They are made using staggered half-bricks or full-bricks with mortar to enhance the structural integrity, however they are non-weight bearing.

Brick partition walls are excellent for sound insulation, thermal insulation and fire resistance due to their properties. If you are looking for a wall partition that is both reliable and environmentally friendly, then brick wall partitions are the ideal solution.

Stud Partition Walls

Stud partition walls consist of a timber frame secured to the floor and ceiling which is then covered on either side with plasterboard. This type of office partition is a cheaper alternative to other types of partition walls whilst still maintaining its function.

Stud partition walls are lightweight and quick and easy to install, making them the ideal partition for those with a lower budget.

Concrete Partition Walls

Concrete partition walls are a robust and durable option for an office partition. They are the perfect choice for high noise environments when you need an extra meeting room for a bit of peace and quiet.

Concrete partition walls offer great fire resistance and insulation, however once installed, they are harder to relocate or modify. And although they are the more costly option, their long-term benefits outweigh the potential drawbacks.

Half-height Partition Walls

If you are looking for partition walls yet still want a slight open-plan approach, then a half-height partition may be the ideal solution. This option can separate the space and create extra rooms but still provide an open-plan environment.

Half-height partition walls are a much cheaper alternative, however they do not provide the same sound and thermal insulation as other partition walls.
